Real Estate and Alternative Investments Director.
Hugo joined Talengo in 2023 as a Director to lead the Real Estate and Alternative Investments practice.
With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, specializing in private and public transactions, particularly in Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy, and special situations, Hugo has led businesses in startup and growth phases, as well as in restructuring situations. His career began in 2001 in the Treasury department of Banesto, where he worked in sales of interest rate, foreign exchange, and commodities derivatives. In 2004, he became a partner at Ideon, founded by the former Treasury executives of Banesto, where he worked on various projects related to capital markets for Spanish banks and institutional investors. In 2013, he joined StormHarbour to develop the bank’s franchise in Spain, advising banks, institutional investors, and corporate clients on M&A transactions and debt.
In 2016, he was part of the team that led the acquisition of Ahorro Corporación Financiera (ACF) by StormHarbour. Subsequently, he joined ACF as COO (Chief Operating Officer) and head of the Real Estate advisory department. In 2020, he became a partner at Iberassets AM, leading the investment area in NPLs (Non-Performing Loans) and alternative financing in the real estate sector. He was responsible for transaction origination and execution, as well as managing relationships with institutional investors.
